Obama losing popularity among American Jews

According to a poll issued by the American Jewish Committee, Jews in America are concerned over a number of White House policies, specifically its handling with relations to Israel. US President Barack Obama captured 78% of the Jewish vote in the presidential elections two years ago, but today his support has dropped to 51%, down from 57% in March. On the Iranian nuclear question, 43% approve of Obama’s handling of the issue, while 46% disapprove, compared to a 49% approval and 35% disapproval rate on the same question last year. In contrast, 62% approve of how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is handling US-Israel relations, while 27% disapprove. Some 59% support, and 35% oppose, US military action to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, while 70% would support Israeli military action. In other poll results, 48% favor and 45% oppose the creation of a Palestinian state, while 95% support requiring the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a Jewish state in a final peace agreement.
