Christians worldwide pray for peace of Jerusalem

Sunday marked a Global Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem among evangelical Christians, centered on a televised service at the Haas Promenade in Jerusalem, and extending to special prayer services held in scores of churches around the world. The Jerusalem event was broadcast live on the global Christian television network God TV. The day is dedicated to Christian solidarity with Israel and prayer for the future of its capital city. Rev. Robert Seams, founder of Eagles’ Wings ministry and the co-chairman of the event, said Christians were joining in to lift their voices loudly and clearly to publicly declare that Israelis are not alone in their aspirations for peace and for a united Jerusalem. Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat stressed that in order for all people to visit Jerusalem, the city needs to be kept safe, united and open to everyone.
